Genesis 25:31-34
Beautiful morning fellas!
Today I read the following scriptures:
“Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.” “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?” But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.” Genesis 25:31-34 NIV
The birthright gave the eldest son a significant spiritual responsibility during these times. Sadly, we see here that Esau was willing to trade that away for a meal. This is a great reminder to not choose immediate gratification over what’s significant. This will often result in ruin and we gain nothing from it. We must not do anything that compromises our faith in God. Our relationship with Him is the most significant thing in our lives.
I encourage you all to stop compromising as of today and to start living the life God is calling you to live.
Have a blessed day boyz!
