How to quiet your doubts
Matthew 11:1-6 NIV
Fellas, it’s a beautiful Saturday!
Today we are breaking down Matthew 11:1-6 NIV.
The Scripture:
“After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee. When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” Matthew 11:1-6 NIV
The Breakdown:
This passage shows us that even John the Baptist doubted that Jesus was the promised Messiah. I mean who can blame John, he was in prison after all. But Jesus reassured John that He was the son of God by telling him of all the good things he was doing for those who believed in Him. Jesus was doing miracle after miracle that no other man can do, only Him. Jesus continues to do this to this very day.
The Application:
As men of God, we can quiet our doubts by reflecting on all the good things the Lord has done in our lives. Our God is wonderful, look around and you will find He does great works in the lives of those who are faithful to Him.
We can be in prison or we can be going through a dark storm, but if our focus remains on Him our doubts will be cast away by His light. His never-ending love will never fail us. He knows our doubts before we even speak them. Remove the doubts you carry from your shoulders and give them to the Lord. Trust in God and He will take care of the rest.
The enemy uses doubt to scare us. The enemy tries to make us forget about all the good works that our God has done in our lives. I encourage you to always give thanks and praise to the Lord for the good things He has done in your life and for the good things that are yet to come. This will help you remember that every storm you encounter will pass. Trust God that he will continue to do what He has always done for you; protect and guide you. He has done so much good in your life.
Let’s give all the praise to God and trust in Him. Let me know how you slay your doubts!
Love y’all.
