Share your good news with other men
Matthew 9:35-38
It's a beautiful Saturday morning fellas!
Today I read the following scriptures:
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”” Matthew 9:35-38 NIV.
In the above passages, we see Jesus declaring the good news of the kingdom publicly, not quietly. Jesus did this because he cared about us. He didn’t want us to feel lost, but rather he wanted all of us to find our Heavenly Father. As men of God, we are called to share our good news with those around us.
In your life, you’ve been blessed with so much goodness. Close your eyes and think about all the good things that you have experienced to this day. It could have been watching a close one overcome an addiction. It could have been becoming a father after years of trying. It could have been receiving a financial blessing to pay your bills. It could have been overcoming health issues. It could have been finding the love of your life at an early age. It could have been landing your dream job or starting your business. That's how good God is. He gives generously so we can do the same.
He is calling you to share your good news publicly. All it takes is one conversation, one story, one testimony of goodness to start a chain reaction that will touch the lives of many. I can’t tell you how much my faith has been strengthened by hearing the testimonies of other men in my life.
I’ve had the blessing of hearing another man tell me how they overcame alcohol after decades of abuse. I’ve had the blessing of hearing another man tell me how their newborn child was brought back to life after not having a pulse. I’ve had the blessing of hearing another man tell me how he forgave his wife after being cheated on. I’ve had the blessing of hearing another man tell me how he bought a home after years of being homeless. I've had the blessing of hearing another man tell me the idea of lust makes him sick after years of being consumed by it. I've had the blessing of hearing another man tell me he wanted to kill himself and now he wants to live his life for Jesus.
All this goodness is thanks to our God. He blesses those who are faithful to Him. He wants nothing but the best for us, and I’m grateful for all the men in my life who boldly shared how good God has been to them.
As men, we will go through struggles in life. We might share the same struggles or our struggles might differ. Nonetheless, the beautiful thing is we can encourage each other by saying, "If God did this for me, I have no doubt He will do the same for you".
Share your goodness fellas! It's a blessing another man needs to hear.
I love y'all, God bless!
